Crop insurance & yield support (PMFBY)

Provide mapped crop evidence for the authorised assessment process.

What you receive

  • Crop/acreage and damage maps
  • Georeferenced observations and sampling records
  • Validated model outputs where scoped
  • Method, uncertainty and submission-support report
How we deliver

Scope & options

Crop acreage, damage evidence and yield estimation are different analytical products within an insurance/assessment workflow.

Scheme methods such as PMFBY/YES-TECH/CROPIC govern how remote sensing and field observations may be accepted.

A map is evidence input; claim approval remains with the authorised scheme/insurer process.

Explore 4 service variants

Crop acreage and crop-type mapping

Estimate cultivated area and crop classification.

Requires seasonal reference data and validation.

Crop-damage and loss evidence

Record affected areas and observed crop damage.

Evidence does not itself establish a payable claim.

PMFBY/YES-TECH/CROPIC workflow support

Prepare data under the relevant authorised contract and current methodology.

The service supplies evidence within the applicable scheme workflow; empanelment or scheme authority is confirmed for the actual programme.

Yield-model and CCE-support inputs

Support crop-cutting experiment planning or calibrated yield estimation.

A vegetation index alone is not a validated yield model.

Useful to know

Terms, explained
Acreage mapping
Measured crop or affected area used as an input to the applicable insurance workflow.
Damage evidence
Georeferenced observations supporting scheme-defined assessment rather than deciding a claim by themselves.
Yield model
A documented estimation method using the inputs required by the applicable programme or study.
Can a farmer’s private drone map approve a PMFBY claim?

Scheme procedures and authorised assessment determine claim treatment. Private imagery may be supporting evidence only if accepted.

Is Lotusmirk automatically a PMFBY technology provider?

Lotusmirk does not claim scheme empanelment or authority. Any scheme work depends on a verified engagement and the relevant contracting/approval requirements.

Will NDVI alone give a reliable yield figure?

A defensible estimate requires an appropriate crop/season model, reference observations and validation.

What must be agreed before data collection?

The accepting organisation, crop and season, area, assessment purpose, required method and evidence format. These can materially change the scope.

Method & limitations

Agree the crop, season, geography and prescribed assessment methodology.

Distinguish imagery, field observations and validated yield-model outputs.

PMFBY-related work must match the actual scheme engagement and accepting party.

Requires seasonal reference data and validation.

Evidence does not itself establish a payable claim.

The service supplies evidence within the applicable scheme workflow; empanelment or scheme authority is confirmed for the actual programme.

A vegetation index alone is not a validated yield model.

Help me ask
  • Which insurer or programme must accept the data?
  • What crop-season method and validation are required?
  • Are we collecting evidence or producing an authorised yield estimate?
Use ordinary words. A short problem description is enough. Do not include confidential or security-sensitive information.
Start with state and district/city. Exact boundaries can be provided later through an agreed channel.Leave blank if unknown.
An estimate is acceptable. Leave unknown rather than inventing a measurement.Leave blank if unknown.
This is a preference, not a confirmed mobilisation or delivery date.Leave blank if unknown.
Personal addresses are accepted for civilian enquiries and individual training.
More project detail Optional
State only a non-sensitive reference. A submitted standard is a requirement to review, not a claim of accreditation.
Examples: ground-only work, no cloud hosting, limited access. Do not include personal IDs, confidential documents or sensitive locations.
Provide the tender/design requirement, not an invented target. Image resolution and positional accuracy are different.Leave blank if unknown.
Unknown is acceptable. Apply WGS84/UTM or a local benchmark only when it is confirmed for the job.Leave blank if unknown.

Which outputs do you need?
Optional: choose outputs within the approved scope, or leave undecided. This is a request, not automatic inclusion.
Optional specialist variants
Only independently verified variants may be selected for a commercial enquiry.
