Forest inventory & plantation audits

Measure tree cover and check plantation establishment through field and spatial evidence.

What you receive

  • Tree/plot and plantation register
  • Canopy/height and change maps
  • Survival/establishment assessment
  • Field-validation and optional MRV evidence package
How we deliver

Scope & options

Forest inventory combines sampled field truth with remote canopy/height/cover observations.

Tree count, species, survival and biomass are different variables with different detectability and validation needs.

Carbon MRV follows the selected programme methodology and independent verification rules.

Explore 5 service variants

Tree enumeration and forest inventory

Record trees or sampled stands and relevant attributes.

Species, stem and concealed-tree measurements may require field work.

Plantation survival and growth audit

Check establishment and repeat changes in planted areas.

Define the planting reference and field-validation method.

Forest/land carbon MRV support

Provide spatial and field inputs for carbon measurement, reporting and verification.

Credit issuance/certification belongs to the chosen programme and independent validation/verification process.

Wildlife and habitat monitoring

Record authorised wildlife observations and habitat condition.

Wildlife detections are recorded with survey effort; they are not treated as a complete population census.

Forest, wetland and mangrove habitat mapping

Map cover and condition with appropriate ecological review.

Classification and ecological conclusions require suitable validation.

Useful to know

Terms, explained
Forest inventory
Measured sample, tree or stand information linked to spatial coverage.
Canopy metrics
Mapped canopy cover/height or related vegetation structure derived from suitable data.
Survival audit
Repeat assessment of planted areas to measure establishment rather than only recording planting activity.
Can a drone count every tree under a closed canopy?

A validated measurement method and suitable references are required. Occlusion and crown overlap affect detection. Field sampling or other measurements may be required.

Will you certify carbon credits?

MRV support provides evidence. Programme rules, independent verification and registry decisions govern any credit issuance.

Does a wildlife detection map prove the total population?

It records detections under a defined survey effort. A population estimate requires a suitable ecological survey design.

Can you fly over a protected forest without separate access permission?

Do not assume that aviation permission grants forest or protected-area access. The responsible authority’s requirements must also be satisfied.

Method & limitations

Combine remote observations with appropriate field plots or tree checks.

Separate canopy metrics, tree counts, species records and biomass estimation.

Use the relevant programme methodology for any carbon-MRV support.

Species, stem and concealed-tree measurements may require field work.

Define the planting reference and field-validation method.

Credit issuance/certification belongs to the chosen programme and independent validation/verification process.

Wildlife detections are recorded with survey effort; they are not treated as a complete population census.

Help me ask
  • Which tree attributes need field checks rather than remote estimation?
  • What planting baseline will the survival audit use?
  • Which carbon or ecological methodology must the evidence support?
Use ordinary words. A short problem description is enough. Do not include confidential or security-sensitive information.
Start with state and district/city. Exact boundaries can be provided later through an agreed channel.Leave blank if unknown.
An estimate is acceptable. Leave unknown rather than inventing a measurement.Leave blank if unknown.
This is a preference, not a confirmed mobilisation or delivery date.Leave blank if unknown.
Personal addresses are accepted for civilian enquiries and individual training.
More project detail Optional
State only a non-sensitive reference. A submitted standard is a requirement to review, not a claim of accreditation.
Examples: ground-only work, no cloud hosting, limited access. Do not include personal IDs, confidential documents or sensitive locations.
Provide the tender/design requirement, not an invented target. Image resolution and positional accuracy are different.Leave blank if unknown.
Unknown is acceptable. Apply WGS84/UTM or a local benchmark only when it is confirmed for the job.Leave blank if unknown.
