IBM Rule 34A drone-survey package
Prepare prescribed data for an applicable mining lease.
Applicable year, lease scope and current SOP determine the required package.
Mapping & LiDAR
Prepare measured mine data and the applicable IBM aerial-survey submission package.
MCDR Rule 34A creates a specific annual aerial-data obligation for qualifying mining leases, separate from DGMS statutory mine-survey duties.
The IBM package centres on processed georeferenced outputs such as DEM and orthomosaic plus the prescribed submission data.
Underground and statutory mine-survey work requires specialist competencies beyond an aerial photogrammetry package.
Prepare prescribed data for an applicable mining lease.
Applicable year, lease scope and current SOP determine the required package.
Prepare statutory survey records through appropriately certificated mine-survey partners.
A remote-pilot certificate does not authorise statutory mine-plan certification.
Measure accessible mine voids through specialist partners.
Underground safety and equipment suitability require mine-authorised review.
Document exposed geometry and changes on the mine.
Geotechnical interpretation and environmental sign-off remain separate.
Applicability and submission requirements depend on the governing rule, lease and current IBM directions. These must be checked before quoting.
Lotusmirk does not claim that approval. IBM’s published SOP says drone-agency registration with IBM is not required; applicable aviation and survey obligations still apply.
Preparing aerial data for IBM is different from statutory mine plans and surveyor duties. Statutory work needs appropriately certificated professionals under the applicable mine-safety regime.
Survey data does not itself certify mineral reserves. Submission preparation and review support do not guarantee acceptance by IBM or another authority.
The rule applies to a lessee with an annual excavation plan of at least 1 million tonnes or a lease area of at least 50 hectares. The annual survey covers the lease and up to 100 metres outside the boundary, with the processed DEM and orthomosaic due on or before 1 July.
Confirm lease applicability and the current IBM submission specification first.
Keep IBM aerial-data support distinct from statutory DGMS mine surveying.
Use suitably qualified specialist partners for any statutory plans or underground work.
